Crafting Joy -Jessie de Salis

A 16mm film by Natalie Dodd & Peter Butterworth
Summer 2025, we were lucky enough to work with Natalie Dodd from Erro Studio. Natalie created a beautiful film showing our studio and practice on a hazy summer’s day in rural Somerset. Natalie and Peter have a wonderful style, capturing the nostalgia of the landscape and the joy of printing.
The Como Collection
In October 2025, I released the Como Collection. I’ve been working on this collection for the best part of a year, and I’m so pleased to finally be sharing it with you. I’m a big fan of bold designs and lots of colour, but I wanted to do something different this time. The patterns are simpler, the colours more pared back—stripes and checks that sit harmoniously within a space.
I have Swiss-Italian heritage and spend time in Northern Italy every summer. These designs are inspired by soft Italian colours and architectural shapes: chunky stripes from the beach umbrellas on Lago di Como, faded pink frescoes, peeling burnt-orange paint, and streaky patinas on ancient stonework.
I work with my brilliant cousin Alice, and other family members often get roped in too. Everything I create is hand-printed and sewn in a barn in Somerset. It’s very old school, but the process is beautiful, and the fabric comes to life before your eyes. I don’t want to do it any other way, because this method—everything handmade by myself—lies at the heart of my work.
Jessie de Salis x Haines
In September 2025, we collaborated with Haines to create a fully reclaimed collection. We printed our Lino Stripe design in bespoke shades of pink and red on deadstock linen. Haines then used the fabric to repurpose second-hand furniture, creating a completely reclaimed collection. It’s amazing to see what can be done with objects that might otherwise be thrown away.
